Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) serves Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and parts of Gujar Khan. It's the DISCO with the highest per-capita income territory and — because of the diplomatic and government connections — some of the most rigorous billing scrutiny.
IESCO reference number
14 digits at the top-left of every IESCO bill. Save it — the same number works everywhere: this site, JazzCash, your bank app, IESCO's own portal at bill.pitc.com.pk.
If you have lost every previous bill, three ways to recover it:
- Dial 118 with your CNIC and address.
- Take the physical meter number to your local IESCO SDO with CNIC.
- If a neighbour on the same feeder can share their reference number, the first 8 digits (feeder + subdivision) will match yours — the SDO can then look you up faster.
Details in our [reference-number guide](/find-reference-number).
Checking your IESCO bill
Enter the reference on our [IESCO page](/iesco). Bill appears in seconds, live from PITC. Print or save as PDF from the same screen.
Paying an IESCO bill online
- JazzCash / Easypaisa → Bill Payments → Electricity → IESCO. Fee usually Rs. 12–25.
- Any 1LINK bank app → Utility Bills → IESCO. Usually free.
- HBL, Meezan, UBL, Alfalah, ABL, MCB, Askari, Bank Al Habib, Standard Chartered — all supported.
- Over the counter at any authorised collecting bank with the printed bill.
- Standing instruction — set once at your bank branch and the bill pays itself on the due date every month.
For failure diagnosis, see our [online payment guide](/blog/pay-electricity-bill-online-pakistan).
IESCO helpline and complaint routes
Dial 118 for IESCO faults, over-billing, meter issues, or load-shedding info. Twin-cities complaints escalate through the main office on IESCO HQ Road, G-7/4, Islamabad. There are subdivision offices in every sector of Islamabad and every zone of Rawalpindi — nearer to your connection and often faster than the HQ.
Common IESCO issues
New connection. Not doable online. Visit the local IESCO Customer Service Centre with CNIC, proof of ownership or tenancy, and a previous bill for a neighbouring connection (which you can print from this site). Typical timeline: 30–60 days for a standard 5 kW domestic connection.
Name change / transfer. SDO-only. Bring the current bill, CNIC of old and new consumer, an affidavit, and a no-dues certificate.
Wrong reading. Request a meter check at your SDO. First check is free. If the meter is confirmed over-recording, IESCO replaces it and refunds recent over-billing.
Load-shedding. Islamabad urban feeders typically see minimal shedding; peripheral rural feeders see more. Published feeder-wise schedule lives on iesco.com.pk.
Winter bills. IESCO territory has genuine winters (temperatures below freezing in Murree and parts of Jhelum). Electric geysers and heaters push bills to 400+ units, out of the protected slab. Switching heaters to gas — or accepting an unprotected month — is usually cheaper than fighting the bill.
Escalation ladder
1. Fetch and print from our [IESCO checker](/iesco). 2. Call 118, get a ticket number. 3. Written application at your local IESCO SDO. 4. NEPRA at nepra.org.pk after 15 working days.
Save yourself next month
- Note your meter reading on the 1st of every month. Two months of readings tell you your daily usage.
- Set up standing instruction at your bank so the bill pays itself.
- Bookmark this site's [IESCO page](/iesco) — 5 seconds to check any month.
